Try Not To Breathe
The Scottish Government has launched a new service that tells you when not to breathe.
The service lets you know what the air quality is like in your area, on a daily or hourly basis. It's a pity it's not an app, but an email service, as I'm sure more people would rather use an app than go through the rigmarole of signing up to a website.
Still, at least the government is acknowledging that some parts of Scotland have air pollution issues. Now, what are they going to do about them?
Incidentally, on the same day as the pollution monitoring service was announced telling Scots that sometimes it's best to stay indoors, I listened to Scientific American's latest '60 Second Earth' podcast, telling Americans that their homes and offices are polluted and they should get outdoors.
Perhaps standing in the doorway, half-in and half-out, is the safest place?
