Perhaps, though, someone has had a word with the poor minimum-wage sods hired to deliver them.
Last year, a huge pile of them was dumped at the bottom of the stairwell - too many copies for the number of flats so that even on Christmas Day there were copies of the Yellow Pages lying there.
This year, the deliveryperson took the time to drop a shrink-wrapped parcel at each door in the stairwell, thereby eliminating the waste of spare copies kicking around.
Of course, there's still the waste of printing the damn things. The Yellow Pages are yesterday's solution to a problem. The vast majority won't even come out of the plastic before next year's arrive. It's time we either had an opt-in system for them, banned them completely, or had them delivered on CD or memory card.
